Susan Pettrey has served in various ministry roles at The Brooklyn Tabernacle for over two decades. During her early years, she was a soloist in the choir and worship leader for the church. In time, she started The Brooklyn Tabernacle Drama Company, where she wrote and produced plays and musicals as a tool for evangelism in the city. Later on, she took over direction of the children’s ministry for almost 10 years until the Lord led her to women’s ministry. Her heart is to see women made whole through the power of God’s Spirit and his Word, as they fulfill the unique purpose he has for their lives. Susan and her husband, Brian, have four beautiful children.

Born and raised in New York City, Linnette has a bachelor of music degree from New York University (NYU) and earned a master of professional studies in urban ministry from Alliance Theological Seminary/Nyack College. It was while Linnette was a freshman at NYU that she joined their All-University Gospel Choir and became a born-again Christian. Through her choir mates, Linnette learned about the Brooklyn Tabernacle and began attending the church, where she served as a leader in the young adult ministry (now Sanctus) for fifteen years. Linnette currently travels and ministers with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ through song. Additionally, in her new leadership roles with the Exchange women’s ministry and the Be Transformed ministry, Linnette counts it a privilege to be able to serve the men and women of her beloved city. Her prayer for them is based on Galatians 5:1: “Freedom is what we have—Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.”
