Who Are We?
The Employment Resources Ministry provides coaching, training and resources for job search and career development.
Eligibility to Volunteer
In order to serve in this ministry, you must be a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle or in the process of becoming a member.
Activities & Functions
Facilitators develop and lead workshops focused on job search, career development or specific job skills.
Coaches support Facilitators during events by leading small group activities and providing individual attention for participants. They also provide their expertise in addressing questions/requests submitted to the ministry.
Coordinators help with the behind the scenes logistics for the workshops: registration, team schedule, space setup and equipment requests, workshop materials and supplies, sign-in, and handout distribution.
COMMUNICATIONS & RESEARCH TEAM
This team creates publicity materials, assists with the layout of and consistency between our workshop materials, and manages our lists of employment and career development-related organizations and opportunities.
Frequency of Service
Facilitators: Varies based on how often their workshop is scheduled per year; typically a minimum of two workshops per year.
Coaches: Asked to serve during at least 3 workshops per year. Additionally may contribute on an ad hoc basis by responding to requests and writing articles.
Coordinators: Asked to coordinate at least 4 workshops per year.
Communications & Research Team: Serves from home; hours/times based on ministry calendar.
Length of Commitment
A one year commitment is preferred and we ask that members prayerfully consider whether to continue in the ministry at the end of each year.
Those with experience in career coaching, life coaching, executive coaching, recruitment, staff management, human resources and talent development are preferred as Facilitators & Coaches.
