Praising God in Our Trials
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God...” (Acts 16:25 GNT)
Were Paul and Silas leading worship at one of the local gatherings of believers at midnight that night? No! They were in chains in a prison, after having been wrongfully accused and beaten; yet instead of protesting their innocence, they were singing the Lord’s praises. Suddenly God intervened in their situation in a miraculous way, and not only were they set free, but they had a harvest of souls that day. Let’s bless the Lord and sing praises to him in our own trials and difficulties; and let’s see the mighty hand of God move on our behalf, not only to deliver us, but also to bring others to salvation through our testimony.
