Access-A-Ride
The Access-A-Ride Ministry lovingly serves the elderly and differently abled members of our church, ensuring they feel valued and included in every service and event. Volunteers offer caring assistance and a welcoming presence to help make access safe and comfortable. If you have a heart to make others feel seen and supported, this is a wonderful place to serve.
Altar Ministry
The Altar Ministry is about being the hands and feet of Jesus—creating a safe, prayerful space where people can encounter God’s presence and leave feeling seen, loved, and supported. Volunteers pray with and encourage those who come forward, helping guide them in their next steps of faith. If you have a heart for prayer and compassion for people, we’d love for you to join this meaningful ministry.
Baby Dedication
The Baby Dedication Team supports and encourages parents as they commit to raising their children according to God’s plan. Each month during the 12 PM service, we celebrate this special moment with families and guide them through the process. If you have a heart to serve and bless parents and children, we’d love for you to join our team!
BT Kids Early Childhood (0-6yrs.)
If you love young children and want to help little ones hear about Jesus, BTKids Early Childhood could be the ministry for you! Our volunteers serve one Sunday each month, with rotating roles to create a safe and enjoyable experience for the children. We use enthusiasm, reliability, and teachability to pour into the lives of our littlest attendees and watch God mold them.
BT Kids Elementary (7-12yrs.)
BTKids Elementary is committed to serving with excellence and modeling Christ to every child in our church and community. Energetic, compassionate volunteers serve once or twice a month during Sunday services in a variety of roles. Our goal is to create a space for children to encounter Jesus Christ and build a relationship with Him.
BT Youth Ministry (13-18yrs.)
BTYM exists to disciple and empower teens to grow in their relationship with Jesus and live out their faith daily. Serving in this ministry means investing in the next generation through mentorship, support, and Christlike example. Join us in helping teens discover who God created them to be.
Data Entry
The Data Entry Ministry handles prayer requests and praise reports from around the world with care and accuracy. Volunteers help review and publish these messages so others can share their stories. If you’re dependable and have a heart to serve, this is a beautiful way to make a difference.
Evangelism
The Evangelism Ministry is a team of believers passionate about sharing the love and hope of Jesus with our church family and community. Through conversations, prayer, and outreach, we meet people where they are and point them to Christ. If you have a heart to connect with others, grow in faith, and make an eternal impact, we’d love for you to join us!
Fellowships
The sole function of the BT fellowships ministry is to bring visitors and church members together for godly fellowship and community. Our outgoing and encouraging team members volunteer at least once a month, warmly welcoming congregants and assisting with both setup and tear down. If you have a heart for inclusion and community, we’d love to serve with you!
Follow-Up
The Follow-Up Ministry is all about helping newcomers feel seen, loved, and connected. Through prayer and personal encouragement, we guide people as they take their next steps in faith—moving from visiting to belonging. If you love encouraging others and want to make a difference, join our team!
Hospitality
Our hospitality team is dedicated to serving others and refreshing people’s spirits with the love of Christ. Every week we prepare and serve meals to guests, staff members, choir members, and volunteers. Members of this ministry have servants’ hearts and commit to serve at least twice a month.
Keepers of God’s
House
Your attention to detail, dedication to cleanliness, and love of serving can be used mightily in the Keepers of God’s House ministry! Volunteers serve one hour each week, on either Sundays or Tuesdays, and at BT events. This small team is full of opportunities to grow spiritually and serve lovingly.
Marriage (Family)
The Marriage Ministry is dedicated to helping couples grow stronger together through God’s Word, reflecting the love between Christ and His church. Through events, workshops, and support groups, we equip couples with biblical truths to build lasting, Christ-centered marriages. If you’re passionate about encouraging and strengthening marriages, we’d love to have you join us!
Medical Support
The BT medical team serves to provide immediate assistance to anyone experiencing illness or injury during a church service or event. Members volunteer at least three times a month, attend regular training, and practice confidentiality and professional conduct. We are looking for empathetic, discreet, and dependable servants to provide care and compassion in tense moments of need.
Membership
The Membership Ministry helps people build a strong, biblical foundation and grow as active members of the church. Through classes, conversations, and support, we equip and encourage believers to understand their identity in Christ and connect with the church family. If you love helping others grow in their faith and feel at home, we’d love for you to join our team!
Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry equips and encourages men to become strong, godly leaders in their homes, church, and community. Through brotherhood, biblical guidance, and meaningful connection, we help men grow in faith and live with purpose and integrity. If you’re passionate about encouraging and walking alongside other men in their faith journey, we’d love for you to join us!
Missions
The Global Missions Ministry is passionate about reaching the unreached and making disciples around the world. Through prayer, support, and practical service, we partner with missionaries and help share the love of Christ globally. If you have a heart for the nations and want to make an impact—whether by praying, serving, or supporting behind the scenes—we’d love for you to join the team!
New Hope
The New Hope Ministry shares the love of Christ with those experiencing homelessness through practical care, prayer, and a consistent, compassionate presence. From outreach events to small group studies, we remind each person that there is hope in Jesus. If you have a heart to love and serve others with humility and compassion, we’d love for you to join our team!
Parenting (Family)
The Parenting Ministry equips and supports parents as they lead their children in the ways of the Lord. Through community, workshops, and practical resources, we help families grow stronger in faith together. If you’re passionate about encouraging and learning alongside other parents, we’d love for you to join us!
Placement Ministry
The Placement Ministry helps people discover their God-given gifts and find their place to serve and grow in the church. Through personal connection and guidance, we equip members to get involved and thrive in ministry. If you love encouraging others and helping them step into their purpose, we’d be excited to have you on the team!
Prayer Band
Volunteers in the prayer band regularly intercede for prayer requests submitted to the church and faithfully pray for the BT congregation, leadership, and global needs. Members of the prayer band commit to serve faithfully for at least one year, willingly participating in corporate prayer gatherings and standing in the gap for others.
Pre-Marital (Family)
The Pre-Marital Course equips engaged and seriously dating couples with biblical and practical tools to build a strong, Christ-centered marriage. Through lessons on communication, intimacy, stewardship, and more, couples are guided to lay a solid foundation for their future together. If you’re passionate about encouraging couples in their journey toward marriage, we’d love for you to join the team!
Information/Reception
Ministry
The Information Ministry is the warm and welcoming face of our church, greeting visitors and guiding them toward community and connection. By offering information, support, and a listening ear, we help people take their next steps in faith and church life. If you love making others feel seen and valued, we’d be delighted to have you on the team!
Sanctus (19-29yrs.)
Sanctus NYC is the young adults ministry of The Brooklyn Tabernacle, passionate about leading 18–30-year-olds into the fullness of life in Jesus. Through Friday gatherings, small groups, and special events, we build authentic community and pursue God together. If you’re excited to grow in faith and help others do the same, we’d love for you to join the team!
Security
The goal of the security ministry is to protect God’s people and His property while serving with humility, wisdom, and compassion. Team members serve whenever the church doors are open—monitoring entrances and exits, observing the balcony, and responding tactfully to disturbances. Our calm, dependable security volunteers find great reward in protecting and serving others.
Single & Parenting (Family)
Single & Parenting is a ministry that supports and strengthens single parents as they navigate the unique challenges of raising children. Through quarterly workshops and biblical encouragement, we help families grow closer to God and to one another. If you’re passionate about encouraging and walking alongside single parents, we’d love for you to join us!
Social Services: Career & Business
Those who serve in the career and business ministry believe that faith and excellence belong in every part of life—including the workplace. Their goals are to educate and equip church members with skills that aid them in employment and to help them better understand business ethics and entrepreneurship. Approachable and passionate volunteers enjoy mentoring, encouraging, and helping others thrive.
Thursdays @ BT
Thursdays @BT is a weekly gathering where adults come together for worship, Bible study, and warm fellowship, creating a space where everyone can encounter the love of Jesus. Through simple acts of welcome and service, we help make church feel like home. If you love people, prayer, and creating a welcoming atmosphere, we’d be thrilled to have you join the team!
Ushers
Ushers stay alert and serve behind the scenes during BT services, ensuring that everything runs smoothly, from greeting congregants to guiding altar calls and all the moments in between. These reliable volunteers serve twice a month on rotating teams for Sunday and Tuesday services. We desire to create a reverent and welcoming environment for worshipers to encounter the presence of God.
Visitation
Gentle and reliable church members with hearts for encouragement, prayer, and compassion find fulfillment in the visitation ministry by extending the love of Jesus to those who are homebound or in nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals. Many of our church attendees are ill, elderly, or recovering from surgery. Those who faithfully volunteer in this ministry help make their days brighter by offering them prayer, Scripture, and fellowship.
Welcome
The Welcome Ministry is all about creating a warm, friendly atmosphere where everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, loved, and drawn closer to Christ. By greeting, guiding, and serving with joy, we help make church feel like home. If you love connecting with people and making others feel welcome, we’d be excited to have you join the team!
Women’s Ministry
The Exchange is a women’s ministry that points women of all ages to Jesus while creating a warm, nurturing community. Through Bible studies, retreats, and special events, we offer spaces for growth, connection, and encouragement. If you love welcoming and encouraging other women, we’d love for you to serve with us!
Audio/Visual
The Audio/Video Ministry enhances the worship experience by using technology to communicate the Gospel with clarity and excellence. From sound and lighting to livestreaming and multimedia, we help create a seamless, distraction-free environment where people can encounter Jesus.
