Haiti

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit southwest Haiti on Saturday, August 14, 2021. The cities of Les Cayes and Jeremie appear to have been hit the hardest. Thankfully, our field workers—Sisters Elsie, Stephanie and Bonite—are safe, and so are their ministry members, as far as we know; but the latest reports indicate that over 1300 people have been confirmed dead.

Hindering the rescue efforts is tropical depression Grace, which began to drench the island on Monday, threatening to dump up to 15 inches of rain over a landscape where people are huddling in fields and searching for survivors of the earthquake.

All of this is on top of the presidential assassination a few weeks ago.

Please pray for Haiti and its people.
