Serving the Lord in world ministry has been the calling on Jamie and Sandra's married life. They have been involved in numerous short-term mission trips and have served as Global Ministry leaders for a number of years. During this time, they felt God giving them a heart for the Middle East.
In the summer 2019, they will move their young family to the Middle East to serve the Syrian and Iraqi refugee communities. The Syrian and Iraqi conflicts have caused hundreds of thousands of casualties and millions of refugees to flee all throughout the region creating one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. This has allowed the local churches to share the love of Jesus in a practical and spiritual way to the refugees through medical and humanitarian outreaches. Jamie and Sandra will come alongside a vibrant local church and assist in these outreaches.
Sandra is a registered nurse who will serve in a medical clinic that is connected to the church, utilizing her 26 years of experience in the operating room to comfort and treat patients who need medical care. Jamie is a licensed social worker and fitness coach with a desire to reach young people. Through his experience working with teens and their families in a variety of difficult settings, he will look to develop programs to meet their needs and connect them with appropriate support.
Isaiah 6:8 says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!’" This sums up Jamie and Sandra's heart for the Middle East. Please pray for God's provision and help as they transition the children to new schools and a new language and culture. Please pray that God will use them in mighty ways to encourage many in the Middle East.
