Access-A-Ride Ministry
The Access-A-Ride Ministry exists to lovingly welcome, assist, and serve elderly and differently abled members of our church family so they feel valued and included. Volunteers provide a caring presence and practical help, supporting mobility needs, assisting people to their seats, and helping coordinate transportation so everyone can participate in worship and church life.

Altar Ministry
The Altar Ministry creates a safe, prayerful space where people who come forward during services can encounter God’s presence and feel seen, loved, and supported. Volunteers pray with individuals, encourage them, and guide them toward next steps in faith. A one-year commitment is required, and volunteers must be members of the church and deacons or deaconesses.

Audio Visual Ministry
The Audio Visual Ministry enhances the worship experience by ensuring that sound, video, lighting, live stream, and multimedia run smoothly so people can clearly hear and engage with the message of Christ. Volunteers typically serve twice a month on Sundays for a one-year commitment, arriving early to church to prepare and test equipment and serving in roles such as camera operation, lighting, shading, or live-stream directing. The goal is a distraction-free environment where worship can flow seamlessly.
BT Español
BT Español is our Spanish-speaking congregation, which was created to reach and disciple individuals and families in our community who worship best in Spanish. Volunteers can serve in greeting, prayer, worship, and children’s ministry, and are welcome whether or not they speak Spanish. The heart of BT Español is to build a vibrant Spanish community where people can encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and serve together across cultures and languages. To learn more, click here.
BTKids! Early Childhood (Ages 0–6)
BTKids! Early Childhood is committed to modeling Christ and helping our youngest children build a strong foundation of faith, as we believe that they can experience God deeply. Volunteers typically serve one Sunday a month (during both services) for a full calendar year, rotating through roles such as check-in, check-out, and in-service support. Each Sunday begins with a volunteer debrief and prayer as the team prepares to welcome children. To learn more, click here.
BTKids! Elementary
(Ages 7–12)
BTKids! Elementary exists to model Christ and create space for older children to encounter Jesus personally through programming that is enjoyable, memorable, and applicable. Volunteers serve one or two Sundays per month (during both services) through the end of the calendar year, choose a sub-ministry to participate in, and attend several all-volunteer meetings each year. Serving includes a variety of rotating roles that help create a safe and impactful environment. To learn more, click here.
BTYM (Teens Ages 13–18)
Brooklyn Tabernacle Youth Ministry exists to disciple, equip, and empower teens to grow in their relationship with Jesus and live out their faith daily. Volunteers walk alongside students through mentoring, small groups, youth services, Friday night meetings, and special events such as retreats. Volunteers serve as spiritual role models who reflect Christ in both word and action. To learn more, click here.
Career & Business Ministry
The Career and Business Ministry empowers professionals, job seekers, and entrepreneurs to pursue excellence in the workplace while honoring Christ. Volunteers help plan and facilitate workshops, networking events, and training sessions; participate in mentorship; and occasionally offer expertise in fields such as finance, business management, or leadership. Events and meetings take place periodically throughout the year based on initiatives and opportunities.
Data Entry Ministry
The Data Entry Ministry supports the church behind the scenes by editing and publishing prayer requests and praise reports with sensitivity and excellence. Volunteers review submissions for clarity and appropriateness so that the church family can pray and rejoice together. Team members must be active church members, attend in-person Sunday services, and be comfortable using basic online tools.
Evangelism Ministry
The Evangelism Ministry exists to reach the lost, encourage those who are seeking, and boldly proclaim the hope of Christ within our church and throughout our communities. Volunteers serve people through one-on-one conversations, prayer, community outreach events, and the distribution of tracts, Bibles, and other resources. Opportunities to serve include Sundays after services, monthly outreach initiatives, and the support of major churchwide events. To learn more, click here.
Fellowships Ministry
The Fellowship Ministry brings visitors and members together for community, friendship, and encouragement in their walks with the Lord. Volunteers typically serve at least once a month on Sundays (during both services) for a one-year commitment, helping welcome guests, lead table discussions, and create a fun, lively environment. The team assists with setup and cleanup, and gatherings begin with prayer.
Follow-Up Ministry
The Follow-Up Ministry reaches out to first-time visitors, new believers, and anyone seeking connection, helping people take their next steps at the church. Volunteers commit for one year and give two to three hours per week, reaching out to people by phone, text, or email; praying with them; and guiding them forward. The work is covered in prayer and done with care, consistency, and excellence.
God’s Own (Special Needs)
God’s Own creates a safe, welcoming space where children with different needs can experience God’s love and grow in their faith through worship, teaching, and interaction. Volunteers serve with patience and compassion, helping each child feel valued, included, and able to engage meaningfully with God’s Word. To learn more, click here.
GlobalMissions
Global Missions exists to make disciples of all nations and reach the unreached. Volunteers serve in practical roles during missions gatherings, such as with greeting, ushering, managing PowerPoint, manning check-in stations, and hosting Zoom sessions. The ministry also includes meeting regularly in ongoing missionary support teams and prayer teams to pray, encourage missionaries, and help with logistics for short-term missions. Health and Wellness Ministry
The Health & Wellness Ministry exists to educate church members about treatments, preventative measures, and other topics surrounding overall health and wellness. We desire to see participants prosper in both physical and spiritual health. Our volunteers commit at least one year to sharing their medical knowledge and experience with others.
Hospitality Ministry
The Hospitality Ministry exists to share Christian love through cordial, cheerful service as unto Christ. Volunteers typically serve at least twice a month on Sundays and support events where hospitality is needed, with a one-year commitment requested. Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals for guests, pastoral staff and families, the choir, and BTKids! volunteers, as well as assisting with fellowships during special events and conferences.
Information & Reception Ministry
The Information and Reception Ministry serves on the front lines of communication and care by greeting people with the love of Jesus and helping them find next steps, ministries, and upcoming events. Volunteers support visitors and congregants by answering questions, directing people to the right places, and offering listening ears with warmth and hospitality. The role emphasizes staying informed and helping people feel welcomed and connected.
Keepers of God’s
House
The Keepers of God’s House Ministry exists to maintain the church at the highest level of cleanliness in preparation for services and events. Volunteers typically serve one hour each week on Sundays and/or Tuesdays and help clean spaces such as the sanctuary and bathrooms between services. A one-year commitment is required, and the ministry looks for people with servants’ hearts and who are attentive to detail.
Medical Support
The Medical-Support Team provides immediate compassionate assistance for illness or injury during church services and events, serving with excellence and discretion. Volunteers typically serve a minimum of three shifts per month and attend trainings, provide first aid, document incidents, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate with security and emergency services when needed. Volunteers arrive early to services, pray together, and ensure that supplies are ready.
Membership Ministry
The Membership Ministry helps people establish a firm biblical foundation, understand their position in Christ, and become active participants in church life. Volunteers commit to one year of service and may help facilitate membership classes, explain membership requirements to candidates, manage records, assist with interviews, and support Membership Sunday activities. The goal is to help each new member feel equipped, encouraged, and connected to the body of Christ.
Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry equips men to grow as godly leaders in their homes, church, and community through fellowship, prayer, and service. Serving in this ministry means leading with humility, encouraging others in their faith, and helping support or lead events and initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a heart for God and a desire to see men grow spiritually into strong, godly leaders. To learn more, click here.
New Hope Ministry
New Hope Ministries serves those experiencing homelessness in shelters and on the streets through practical care and spiritual encouragement, offering items such as clothing and hygiene supplies alongside prayer and God’s Word. Volunteers attend a required monthly meeting (typically the first Thursday of each month) and generally serve twice a month through outreach events, shelter small groups, and special initiatives like drives or community days. The ministry asks for a one-year commitment and emphasizes compassion, humility, and flexibility.
Placement Ministry
The Placement Ministry helps new and existing members find their God-given place in the church by exploring spiritual gifts and connecting people with ministries in which they can serve and thrive. Volunteers commit for one year of service and may meet with members pursuing their next steps in the church, offer them guidance and recommendations, and follow up to ensure that people feel well matched and supported in their new roles. Scheduling is flexible and based on needs.
Prayer Band
The Prayer Band Ministry is a team of intercessors dedicated to united, consistent prayer for church needs, church leadership, and global concerns. Volunteers intercede for prayer requests submitted to the church and gather for corporate prayer, sharing requests and strengthening one another in faith. Participants must be active church members and commit to serving for one year with confidentiality and consistency. To learn more, click here.
Sanctus (Young Adults Ages 18–29)
Sanctus is a young adult community focused on growing in faith, building friendships, and pursuing Jesus through worship and discipleship. Volunteers commit to serve for one year, serving through greeting, prayer, setup and teardown, tech support, worship, and follow-up. This role is ideal for dependable, servant-hearted individuals passionate about building community and contributing to revival in NYC while growing in their walk with Christ. Security Ministry
The Security Ministry exists to protect God’s people and property while serving with humility, wisdom, and compassion. Volunteers serve during Sunday and Tuesday services and special events, arriving early for prayer and assignments. Responsibilities include monitoring entrances, observing key areas, safeguarding property, and responding wisely to emergencies or disturbances with professionalism and courtesy.
Thursdays @ BT Bible Study
Thursdays @ BT Bible Study is a weekly gathering for adults to worship, study Scripture, and build meaningful fellowship in a warm, welcoming environment. Volunteers help greet and direct guests, offer prayer and support, and foster an atmosphere that feels like home. This role is ideal for someone who loves people, enjoys praying for others, and has a passion for God’s Word.
Ushers Ministry
The Ushers Ministry supports reverent, smooth-flowing church services by greeting congregants, assisting with seating, guiding people during altar calls, collecting offerings, and helping maintain safety and order. Ushers typically serve on rotating teams for Sunday and midweek services, generally twice a month. Teams arrive early, pray together, and remain on post until dismissed.
Visitation Ministry
The Visitation Ministry shares Christ’s compassion with those who cannot attend church in person, offering comfort, connection, and hope. Volunteers visit church members and attenders who are ill, elderly, or recovering, bringing them prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with humility and discretion. Each team member commits to serving for one year and is expected to maintain confidentiality and reliability.
Welcome Ministry
The Welcome Ministry creates a warm, friendly environment for everyone entering the church, whether it’s their first visit or their hundredth. Volunteers typically serve twice a month on Sundays for a one-year commitment, greeting people, providing information, assisting with translation services, offering welcome gifts, and helping first-time visitors get connected. Shifts begin with prayer, and teams serve across the lobbies and welcome center with excellence and joy.
Women’s Ministry (The Exchange)
The Exchange Women’s Ministry connects women of all ages through Bible study, fellowship, and events that foster spiritual growth and community. Serving is flexible and event based, with no ongoing commitment required, and includes welcoming guests, assisting with check-in, and supporting events like retreats.
