Our congregation brings together people of many ages, cultures, and backgrounds,

Come as you are—our greeters will be glad to help you find your way when you arrive.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

Bringing Children?

Our children’s program is available for ages six weeks to twelve years old, and for those with special needs. The children meet in our annex, across the street from our main building, at 190 Livingston Street, for a time of age-appropriate worship, fun, and teaching from God’s Word. Children’s workers are state approved to ensure a safe environment for your kids. Be sure to arrive thirty minutes early for check-in. For more information, visit our BTKids page. Children may also sit in the sanctuary during the main service in all but the front section.

Getting Here

The church is located at 17 Smith Street in Brooklyn, New York. You can take the subway to Jay Street/MetroTech (via the A, C, F, or R line) or Borough Hall (via the 2, 3, 4, or 5 line). Discounted parking is available on Sundays and Tuesday evenings at select locations: Cielo Garage, LAZ Parking, and Edison ParkFast (see FAQ for addresses and prices). Please note: discounted parking is not available for midday prayer meetings. Please be sure to have your parking ticket validated at our Smith Street security desk.

Accessibility

For those with disabilities, we make accommodations for walkers and wheelchairs. When you arrive, please ask a greeter or an usher to help you find the best place to sit. A handicap restroom is available off the Smith Street lobby.

For local residents, the city offers rides to and from the church via Access-A-Ride. Anyone utilizing Access-A-Ride is asked to enter through our 163 Livingston Street entrance, where church workers will help commuters move to and from the sanctuary, answer questions, and show the love of Christ.

How early should I arrive?2026-09-14T23:15:37-04:00

For most services, doors open an hour before the service begins. For Tuesday evening prayer meeting, doors open at 5:00 p.m., and individual prayer with a church leader is from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can tourists visit the Brooklyn Tabernacle?2026-09-14T22:57:50-04:00

Yes, tourists are welcome! We simply ask that if you are unable to stay for the entire service, you would use our ninety-second greeting time to leave so that you can do so discreetly. But our prayer is that you can stay for the entire service and be encouraged by what God has for you.

Do you offer special arrangements for visiting groups?2026-09-18T18:03:01-04:00

We will accommodate your group to the best of our ability, but all seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, please contact [email protected].

Will the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir sing when I visit?2026-09-14T22:57:38-04:00

The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir sings every Sunday at both the 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. services. The Brooklyn Tabernacle Spanish Singers (a smaller group of choir members) sing every Sunday at our 3:00 p.m. BT Español service.

What is Tuesday prayer meeting like?2026-09-17T16:51:11-04:00

Our Tuesday evening prayer meeting began decades ago, birthed out of Pastor Jim Cymbala’s longing for God to work in the church’s early challenging days. It is our most important meeting of the week. The Tuesday evening prayer meeting includes praise and worship, times of prayer, and an encouraging message from God’s Word. In recent years, the church has added both the Tuesday and Friday noon prayer meetings, which are times of quiet individual prayer with brief messages of encouragement.

I am going through a difficult time. Can someone pray with me?2026-09-18T18:13:31-04:00

Yes. If you would like prayer with a church leader, please speak to an usher, or come early to our Tuesday evening prayer, where you can pray individually at the front with a leader from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. You can also submit a prayer request, which our prayer band will pray over for thirty days, by filling out a card in the Smith Street lobby or submitting your request on our prayer page.

What is your Spanish-language service like?2026-09-14T22:49:29-04:00

BT Español meets every Sunday at 3:00 p.m. for our Spanish-language attendees. The service includes a time of praise and worship with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Spanish Singers, a message from the Bible, and an opportunity for prayer. BT Español is led by Pastor Alex Burgos.

What kind of church is the Brooklyn Tabernacle?2026-09-14T22:56:59-04:00

The Brooklyn Tabernacle is a non-denominational Bible-teaching church. Central emphases are prayer, worship in Spirit and truth, teaching from God’s Word, and love in diversity.
