Who Are We?
The Baptism Ministry is committed to serving those who have made a decision to obey the Lord's command:
"He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved…"
— Mark 16:16
Eligibility to Volunteer
In order to serve in this ministry, you must be a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle and be able to stand and do some light physical work.
Activities & Functions
- Workers help to register candidates for baptism and provide them with all pertinent information leading to the day of baptism.
- Baptism workers provide assistance to the pastors and baptism candidates on the day of the Baptism Service.
- Workers maintain a safe and expedient processional of candidates into the baptistery.
Frequency of Service
The Ushers Ministry consists of four teams. Each team has a head usher and 2-3 assistant head ushers. Each team ushers for one service each Sunday on a rotational basis, and is required to sit for a service to be spiritually fed.
Length of Commitment
There are approximately six baptism cycles per year. The service is normally held on Thursday evenings from 6pm-9pm (all workers are required to attend).
All Water Baptism volunteers are asked to make a one-year commitment to the ministry. You may choose to stay longer as the Lord leads.
